A counting system would provide valuable trail usage information to land managers. European companies Eco-Counter and SensMax offer sensors intended for short- and medium-term applications that would be well suited to the Sibiu trails. The collaborators can choose between high-accuracy radar sensors and low-maintenance infrared sensors depending on trail conditions and the desired results. The team created a report with descriptions and contact information for each company and device that they recommend. The table to the right shows characteristics of each device.
